“ Angriest of Pete’s and the most Delectable of Detroit Pizza! This gem of a pizza shop (and more) is housed in an old Taco Bell with all the charm you’d expect from the master pieces they built in San Diego. But, this Taco Bell was transformed into one of the if not the best pizza joints in SD! I’ve had many pizzas over the years but only twice have I made the journey to this little slice of heaven and you’ll see the photos of the pizzas! You aren’t here for my gracious grammar , you’re here for my rating of the pizzas! First pie was the Animal Style (Fav so far) 9.1 Second pie (today) was the Spartan Sausage Pepper and Onion 8.6 So! “ Angry Pete’s Pizza is an absolute gem. I didn’t have much experience with Detroit style pizza before this, but now I’m wondering what took me so long. The crust is thick but surprisingly light. Not heavy or greasy like you might expect. And the flavors? Out of this world. We tried several slice options, which I really appreciated. It’s rare to be able to sample different pizzas without committing to a full pie. Every slice was delicious, but the classic pepperoni was the standout. The cheese goes all the way to the edge, giving you that perfectly crispy caramelized bite in every corner. It’s magic. Also, the vibe is spot on. Angry Pete is serving up incredible pizza out of an old Taco Bell, and somehow the branding is hilarious, creative, and totally on point.
